The small-scale design allows the buildings to blend sensitively into the existing village structure.<\/p>\n\n<p>Despite a limited budget, the focus was on creating well-considered, compact floor plans with bright, open living spaces. Timber was deliberately used as both a design and structural element to ensure a warm atmosphere and ecological quality. A distinctive recess along half the fa\u00e7ade articulates the building volumes and clearly defines each housing unit.
