The existing house from the 1930s, originally in an L-shape with a barn behind it, is fully enclosed by the addition of a garage facing the street. This creates a private, secluded courtyard while preserving the original appearance of the building as much as possible.
In this protected area, there are the building’s outdoor spaces and a pool landscape that gradually rises towards the building level. All interior spaces are arranged around this new, central courtyard, with direct access to it. The existing house was completely renovated and transformed, with the old barn at the end of the building being converted into living space and a library. The old beams and trusses were preserved and remain visible.
A careful approach to the existing structure, in line with sustainability, was the main focus of our concept. Equipped with a heat pump and a photovoltaic system on the roof, the renovation is climate-friendly.
