One of the guiding design principles is the strengthening of the corner at Nottendorfer Gasse/Baumgasse and the creation of a spacious courtyard. The building is deliberately positioned along both streets at the building frontage line (BFL) to define the public urban space with clear lines. As a calm and well-detailed structure, the building aims to complement the urban environment of the Südosttangente. With its simple and reduced architectural language, the new construction integrates harmoniously into the existing cityscape.
A simple forecourt design, combining concrete and asphalt surfaces with colored markings, structures the exit area. The courtyard follows the same structural concept, featuring predefined zones for movement, parking, a temporary fueling station, and designated areas for crane setup and training. The intentional “shifts” in the floor plan and height towards the courtyard further differentiate these areas, creating diverse outdoor spatial qualities. In collaboration with MAGK architects.
