A gallery for Bildrecht on the grounds of the Ankerbrot factory, with the possibility of utilizing it for artists in residence. The newly created areas are intended to serve as exhibition space, living space for artists, and zones for interaction. The concept envisions the extension of the museum’s interior space into the outdoor area. A tangible connection between the inside and outside is established, allowing the ‘image space’ to expand outward onto the terrace.
ANK
The design concept for the gallery integrates an expanded outdoor area within the courtyard of the historic Ankerbrot factory. This approach not only respects the industrial heritage of the building but also enhances the visitor experience by creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The existing industrial form has been carefully renovated to provide a space for art.
The necessary ancillary rooms have been discreetly integrated into niches and wall constructions. A flexible arrangement of movable furniture allows for dynamic spatial configurations, enabling the space to adapt to various events and exhibitions. The design of the outdoor area invites passersby to linger and observe, aiming to break down barriers to art. The studio at the Ankerbrot factory site thus fosters impulses for a vibrant cultural life in the area.
